100 YEARS - HERE WE COME!
Salmon's is a family business dating back to 1913. Frank Salmon started his moving
business in 1913 and added the chair and table rental business in 1915.
In 1972 the moving company was sold. The Salmon family had ran that business successfully
for 59 years. At the time of the sale, Salmon's Moving and Storage was the third
largest moving and storage company in Canada within the Atlas Van Line organization.
Bill Salmon - the youngest of the 7 children - decided that he, his wife Joan and
their children would carry on with the table and chair rental business and see if
they could become the leader in the Party and Special Events business in Vancouver.
I think it is fair to say that they have succeeded in that endeavor.
Today, Salmon's boasts the largest fleet of delivery vehicles and the largest inventory
of most rental items.
Salmon's is the company of choice for the majority of the large special events that
take place in the lower mainland area of Vancouver, for example, The Abbotsford
Airshow, The Molson Indy, Pacific National Exhibition, and The Van Dusen Flower
and Garden Show, to name a few.
Being located in the middle of the "Movie Studio Corridor" of Vancouver-Burnaby,
many of our quality wedding items such as samovars, fountains, Wedding arches, Greek
columns, etc., are chosen by the movie representatives to feature in their film
shoots.
Supplying many of Greater Vancouver's caterers with their dish, linen, table, chair
and food preparation equipment needs is among our most exciting - and rewarding
- tasks.
At Salmon's we are constantly renewing our inventory to more fully satisfy the needs
of our customers.
After many years in the transportation industry, we are no strangers to good service.
We conduct business 7 days a week, day and night as requested, 12 months of the
year.
The next time you see the familiar red white and blue of a "Salmon's"
truck pass by, you are looking at 87 years of quality service.
